Our Commitment

Compassum is a personal navigation tool built to help you orient your life — not to collect, analyze, or monetize your personal data. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

The developer of Compassum has no access to your personal entries, reflections, or private data. The system is designed this way by intention, not just policy.

Information We Store

Compassum stores only what is necessary for the app to function:

• Your username and email address (for account login)
• Your field notes, goals, and decisions (your private entries)
• Your archetype selection and XP progress
• Your profile photo (if uploaded)
• Push notification subscription data (if enabled)
• Basic usage data — which features you use, not what you write

We do not collect location history, raw health logs, financial information, or any data beyond what is needed for the app to work.

Our Limits

• We do not sell your data to third parties
• We do not show your personal entries to anyone, including the developer
• We do not use your data for advertising
• We do not store medical diagnoses, symptoms, or treatment information
• We do not present any insights as medical advice
• We do not sync anything silently — all integrations require your explicit action

Health-Adjacent Features

Compassum is not a medical app and does not provide medical advice. Some features may touch light health metrics such as steps or sleep (via optional integrations). These are treated as sensitive data and stored only for the purpose of generating your personal terrain insights.

Any health-adjacent data is stored encrypted and never shared. You can disconnect any health integration at any time from your Settings page.

External Integrations

Compassum uses the following third-party services:

• Cloudinary — profile photo storage
• Railway — hosting and infrastructure
• Google Maps — optional map display on The Compass page (only loads if you allow location)
• Open-Meteo — weather and AQI data (no personal data sent)
• Anthropic Claude API — AI suggestions for goals and field notes (no identifying information is sent)

We request only the minimum permissions needed for each integration. Location is only accessed when you actively use The Compass page.

Control Over Your Data

You have full control over your data:

• View all your entries at any time within the app
• Delete any entry, goal, or decision at any time
• Remove your profile photo from Settings
• Disable push notifications from Settings
• Request full account deletion by contacting us

How We Protect Your Data

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Your account is protected by password authentication. We follow industry-standard security practices and limit internal access to production data.
